This month introduces the concept of internal systems — the “inner family” that develops to carry unbearable pain. We’ll identify different types of parts and how they protect the system, explore how to safely engage with them, and unpack the idea that the goal isn’t to eliminate parts but to restore harmony within them.

In our March 2026 Insights, we explored how trauma can lead parts to develop specific survival roles. In April, we’ll examine how these parts may organize into broader sectors across developmental stages. This webinar introduces a lifespan × sector framework to help clinicians, helpers, support persons, and survivors recognize internal patterns and strengthen clarity, pacing, and stabilization.

Internal conflict in a DID system rarely looks like “parts arguing.” More often, it shows up as intolerable angst, sudden overwhelm, or the urgent need to escape yourself. In this meaningful session, we will explore what is really happening in those moments — and why they are not signs of failure, but signs of movement toward healing.

Overwhelm and chaos are common experiences for survivors of complex trauma, often reflecting deeper internal conflicts and unknown and unprocessed emotional pain. In this June Insights webinar, we will explore how to discern true overwhelm from trauma-related flooding, understand the internal dynamics that drive chaotic presentations, and reframe these moments as meaningful communication rather than dysfunction.

This teaching session explores how internal communication develops in survivors with DID, especially when language was disrupted by trauma. We will introduce the concepts of “Paper Balls” as symbolic internal messaging and “The Language of the Heart” as pre-verbal, relational communication that exists before words are possible.

This month’s Insights webinar begins with a survivor’s real-life narrative to explore how thoughts are shaped within a DID system. Using Fern & Audrey’s Thought Cards, we will examine the survivor’s internal experience alongside the therapist’s observations. Participants will gain practical tools to identify conditioned and authentic thoughts while supporting greater clarity, agency, and connection to ME.
